Ron Doering 1975 "Old Tucson"

1951: A balladeer, Ron Doering, was born in Yankton, South Dakota. Playing music from his earlly teens in Bohemian Dance Bands and Rockin’ Sock Hops, at age 15, Ron hitchhiked with his guitar to New York City to play the streets of Greenwich Village!

From New York City to New Orleans’ Marti Gras, settling in Tucson, Arizona to work musically with Summerdog Bluegrass Band and in the theater with Arizona Theater Company. Ron wrote and staged Bluegrass musicals and produced recordings on several different record labels. He is also the recipient of awards from the Library of Congress, The National Endowment of the Arts, & the Western States Arts Foundation for his research, recordings, and performances throughout the Western states.

Presently, Ron is playing concerts and folk festivals, and hosts songwriter’s workshops!
